In order to respond properly to the market demand for the skilled commerce graduates, the college has introduced Computer Education Centre which provides trade and commerce befitting computer courses. The existing major courses viz. Accountancy, Marketing, Banking and Monetary Management & Human Resource Management are getting popular day by day in this era of globalization of trade, commerce and industry.
In order to encourage the local students for commerce education, the institution does not put much restriction in allowing them in different courses of study. It only takes a formal interview and allows the admission seekers on the basis of their academic records. For the students who opt for major courses, selection tests are held. The teachers often take extra need based classes during holidays. The teachers take tutorials and keep the marks of the tutorials in separate copies.
The college has been keeping contact with Assam Productivity Council, Assam Sociological Association and with local Vivekananda Kendra, DICC-Tinsukia and other Academic and Social Institutions to motivate the students and teachers for their personal development in particular and for the institutional development in general.
The infrastructure is being maintained by the internal sources only. The existing buildings consist only about one tenth of the total proposed construction areas of the master plan of the college. The constructed areas accommodates only - Principal's Office, Vice Principal Office, Teachers Common Room with Lavatory, Library, Computer Section, Confidential Room, Eleven Class Rooms, One Class Room cum Function Hall, one Students Union Room, one generator room, one girls’ common room, one boys’ common room, NCC/NSS Room, KKHSOU room, IGNOU/DDE, D.U room one well furnished Community Centre, three Urinals, two Latrines for the students only. The College has yet to construct the proposed building included in the master plan.
The college facilitates the students with - a Football cum Cricket ground, pure drinking water, canteen, generator facility, cycle stand, library with reading and internet facility, computer education, spoken english course, health building instruments, sports goods, table tennis, health care, educative programmes and with a pollution free campus.
A Students’ Welfare Fund has been established in order to help the students who are coming from economically weaker section of the Society. The applicant for the same must have the studentship of this college first enrolling himself/herself by paying the prescribed dues at the time of admission.
The college feels proud to have Red Ribbon Club approved by Govt. of Assam which often conducts awareness programmes to educate the people about AIDS. The programme officer is Dr. P. S. Das.
